It's all gooood!

Race at Patuxent

On sunday, the whole Bjorgul family left for Patuxent River Park. The map is located east of Washington DC. Astrid ran a yellow course on 2.9 km. She raced fairly good and got 3rd. Ane ran the red course which was the second longest. It was about 8 km and Ane took it easy due to bad running shape, but overall had a good day in the forest with no major mistakes.

Ida and I ran the longest course, both wanting to beat the other. I started out fast and good in the easy terrain and was leading by about 3 minutes punching the 4th control. After that Ida showed good technique and kept the speed up. I went on a three control miss and the Bjorgul lead was brought over to Ida. On the longleg it only differed 4 seconds between us and we both chose the same route. Ida finsihed 2nd overall
with 83 minutes and only 3 minutes behind the winner. I was a little farther down the list.  I will beat her next time in Philadelphia if I take away the mistakes. Enough with the peop
le.
To you MAP interesting people, it's a base map from 1991, but was revised in 2004. We didn't find any irregularities in the terrain and the trip was a good experience.

Valentine's Day at School!

Today we've celebrated Valentine's Day at Albemarle. The day is also Recomendation day where all the freshman, sophomores and juniors decide what classes to take next year. We have approximately 30-35 minutes of every class and some time to decide what electives you would like in the middle of the day in the big gym. That could be ceramics, drama, music, band, photography or computer science. The seniors like to call the special day "Senior Skip day", but this year they'd get double absences if they skipped a class. This might lead to skipping tomorrow!
These last two weeks, we've been able to buy songs, roses, balloons, a kiss or candy to a friend for Valentine's Day. The most popular choice was a song. Singers had to choose a love song and a song for a friend. During this thursday the groups of singers walked around singing love songs dressed up in pink and red with musicplayer under the arm. At the end of the day i think i've heard about 20 lovesongs been sang to classmates brought up to the front of the class and surrounded by "musicians".
Since I am a junior and not staying for another year, I didn't have much to do. Ane had been sick last week and had to make up some work and actually had a quiz.
